The Caribou Inn in Deadhorse / Prudhoe Bay

Here's a picture of the main entrance to the Caribou Inn in Deadhorse / Prudhoe Bay. It's basically a tin/metal building. The rooms are separated by thin walls, and it was the dirtiest hotel I've stayed at in a very long time, with stains on the carpeting and the lumpiest "bed" I've ever slept on. But by the time I got there I was just glad to have a place to stay.

Talkeetna Hostel photo

Talkeetna, Alaska Hostel photos: Unfortunately I don't have any good pictures of my old neighbors, the hostel in Talkeetna, but if you're wondering what it looks like, hopefully this one will do. The Talkeetna Hostel is the building on the right. I'll try to get some more photos in the future, but I will say this: If you're used to staying at hostels, the Talkeetna Hostel is very nice, and if it's still run by the same people, they were also very nice.

View from the Jenny Lane Cottage (#2)

Here's another picture that shows the view out the back of the Jenny Lane Cottage in Homer. It was too wet when I visited here in the fall of 2008, but I'd love to sit on that bench for a while and just look across the water at the rolling mountains.

Road to the Jenny Lane Cottage

Here's a picture of the road leading to the Jenny Lane Cottage from the fall of 2008. I wanted to show what the road looks like, but don't let it scare you away; the cottage is very nice, and the view out the back is tremendous.

Jenny Lane Cottage, entrance

This picture shows the front entrance to the Jenny Lane Cottage in the fall of 2008. Despite the muddy appearance of the parking lot, the cottage is beautiful inside, and has a tremendous view in the back.
