Palmer, Alaska hotels I recommend

  • Palmer

I was going to create a dedicated web page for Palmer, Alaska hotels and lodging, like I've done for other towns in Alaska (see my Talkeetna lodging and Seward lodging pages), but since there are only two places I'd be willing to let family members stay at, I thought I'd just post them in a blog post here.

The first Palmer hotel I can recommend is the Valley Hotel. I'm told locals who have lived here more than the four months I've been here refer to it as the "V-Ho", but I can neither confirm nor deny that. I can say that it seems to be a very nice hotel in downtown Palmer, with an all-night restaurant as well, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to my family members.

The second Palmer, Alaska hotel I can recommend is the Colony Inn. I know much less about the Colony Inn than I do about the Valley Hotel, but several people have told me it is also very nice. It's just a few blocks away from the Valley Hotel, and I do know that their Sunday brunch buffett is awesome. :)

Sadly, neither hotel seems to have a website, but here are there phone numbers, straight out of the Palmer, Alaska phonebook:

  • Valley Hotel: 907-745-3330
  • Colony Inn: 907-745-3330

That's not a mistake. I just checked, and their phone numbers are indeed the same. Turns out they're owned by the same people. I guess that explains why neither one has a website.

I've seen at least two other motels/hotels in town, but as everyone's mom has said, "If you can't say something good about someone (some thing), don't say anything at all", so I'll leave it at that.
