Alaska events: Iron Dog, Fur Rondy, Iditarod
Wow, there's a lot going on in Alaska in February. Dallas Seavey won the Yukon Quest about a week ago, the Iron Dog snowmachine race just started yesterday, Fur Rondy begins next weekend, and then the Iditarod begins the following weekend.
Of all the events going on, the Fur Rondy seems to be the one event most geared for spectators. They have a big list of events on the left side of their home page that shows all the events that will be happening, including:
- Several auctions
- Fireworks
- Snowboarding demo
- Carnival
- Frostbite footrace
- Parade
- Music
- Miners and Trappers Ball
- Native Art Market
- Much more
The Rondy runs from February 25th through March 6th in Anchorage, and sounds like a pretty big party.
