Moving again in September
As I mentioned earlier this spring, I landed here in Wasilla because it was basically the only place available. When I first moved here I looked at areas like Kenai and Soldotna, but didn't like them much. I love Homer and Seward, but couldn't find a place to live I could afford. I lived in Talkeetna in 2007, and while I still love that little town, I don't know I could live there during the winter. So this spring the choices came down to Anchorage and Wasilla.
I didn't want to move to Anchorage because living there would be just like living in a crowded city in the Lower 48. Well, except for the mountains. So, knowing Wasilla, and having been on the road for weeks, I finally found an apartment in Wasilla. However, I knew when I moved in I didn't want to stay here long, so I signed a six-month lease, and with September just two months away, I think it's time to start thinking about where to live next.
I'll write more about this in a future post, but the early favorites are Palmer, Homer, and Seward. However, there's also a chance that I may move to southeast Alaska -- Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan, and company. Decisions, decisions ...
