Insomnia in Alaska, photos coming soon
Last night I stayed up until at least 2 a.m., and I can assure you it's still light outside at that time. If I happen to stay up that late again tonight, or another night this week, I'll try to post photos here of different times during the day and night.
I remember that when I lived in Talkeetna in 2007 I had a hard time getting adjusted to the constant sunlight, and I used to get up at 2 or 3 a.m. and just think, "Well, I'm not getting any slee tonight", and I'd just start working or read a book. This year, I thought I had the insomnia problem licked a few weeks ago, but these last few days I've been up all hours of the night.
I just looked it up, and according to the Weather Underground website, we're now getting more than 21 hours of visible sunlight every day. I beg to differ -- I think it's 24 hours exactly, lol.
